On Friday 20 June, children from Antonine Primary and
Drumchapel Early Years Centre put on a fantastic performance
as part of the official opening ceremony of their new building.
Bailie Gordon Matheson, Executive Member for Education
and Social Renewal, with assistance from the children provided
a count down to the official opening of the school that was enjoyed
by all. He also provided the children with a short history on
why their school was called ‘Antonine Primary’.
Councillor for Drumchapel, Paul Carey, was also in attendance
at the opening and was delighted with the performances and hard
work that both pupils and staff had put into making the day a
success. He said, “I am thrilled to have played my part
in assisting Glasgow City Council to be able to redevelop Antonine
Primary along with many others in the Drumchapel area. I am sure
that the pupils and staff will benefit from these new modern
facilities.”
