Several local clean-ups have taken place recently as part
of Glasgow City Council’s Clean Glasgow Campaign.
On June 13, more than fifty pupils and teachers from Oakgrove
Primary School cleared away 15 bags of rubbish and also planted
bulbs, trees and roses with the help of Northwoodside Community.
The clean up at the Glasgow Gaelic school on 24 June included
a litter pick of school grounds and surrounding area, a recycling
and healthy food choice relay and talks on litter and healthy
eating.
Meanwhile residents of Garnethill came together on 28 June to
clear away one full cage of litter, and hope to continue clearing
the footpaths at a later date. The residents hope that by improving
this pedestrian walkway, people will be enticed to keep this
area clear of debris and waste.
