Drumchapel United 14s have followed on from where they left
off last season by winning the Glasgow Rangers Football Tournament.
After a 6-0 victory over local side Milngavie, they followed
this up with a 2-1 win over USA Soccer Academy.
The boys were defeated 3-2 by Dundee Utd SC in their final league
game. The chance for revenge came in the final where the young
boys from the Drum ran out 1-0 victors when Declan Hamil was
put through in the final minutes of the game to clinch victory
by firing the ball past a despairing Dundee Utd Keeper. Drum
Manager Billy McGuire said “This has been an excellent
pre season tournament for the boys to take part in, with games
against sides from Dundee and America. The facilities have been
excellent and the Community Coaches from Rangers FC have done
a great job.”
