Ten young people are currently participating in a Get Ready
for Work programme being run by Glasgow West Regeneration Agency.
They have participated in various personal development activities
designed to help them into the workplace.
GRFW is an opportunity for young people to work within real work
environments, trying out skill areas that are of interest to
them.
Five of the young people are currently on work placements with
the remainder to go on placement within the next two weeks. Placements
have been secured in retail, childcare, electrical work and car
mechanics.
One of the activities involved the renaming of the Cyberspace
facility at GWRA - watch out for further details in future issues
of the Glasgow News.
The young people have also involved in the recruitment process
for new members of staff for the GWRA youth team. They have been
sitting on interview panels and also meeting all the candidates
being interviewed.
