Carers Centre Celebrates Volunteers Contributions
Volunteers play a crucial role in helping to deliver services to carers at the Princess Royal Trust For Carers (PRTC) Centre in West Glasgow by helping with administration, befriending, group work, therapies, centre promotion, carer time out activities and escorting.
This year, PRTC staff gave special thanks to four volunteers who have helped to run services for over 10 years: David Burness, Mattie Brittain, Sheila Roberts and Sheena Muir.
At a celebratory lunch on 9th July, a letter of appreciation from Her Royal Highness Princess Anne was presented to each of the volunteers. The Princess Royal thanked the volunteers for their outstanding voluntary service and ‘selfless work’ given in the support of carers over the last 10 years.
The four volunteers were thrilled and delighted. Mattie said: “It was a lovely day and great to be recognised for something I enjoy doing very much”.
