GHA awarded five-star international health and safety rating
Glasgow Housing Association (GHA) picked up its second successive health & safety five-star rating.
The British Safety Council, one of the world’s leading health and safety organisations, awarded GHA the maximum grade for reducing accidents in a London ceremony. Auditors inspected the company for five days last October and gave them a 97.7% rating, highlighting “extremely positive health and safety culture” as well as support from the team.
GHA Tenant Chair Sandra Forsythe said: “It was a real thrill to join some of the biggest and most successful organisations in the world to collect our five-star certificate.”
Nina Wrightson OBE, Chairman of the British Safety Council, said: “I hope other companies will take the lead from Glasgow Housing Association and forge the way towards a safer future with a five-star award.”
The inspection by the auditor took in every aspect of GHA’s work across the city and included the city centre base at Granite House, customer services, a very sheltered housing complex and more.
