Knightswood Secondary School enjoy Field Trip to Apple Store

A group of S1, S2 and S3 pupils from Knightswood Secondary School’s Ciné Club recently visited the Apple Store in Buchanan Street for their first field trip.

The group was led by Ishbel Ahern, English and Media Studies teacher at Knightswood Secondary School, who commented: “The children have been working on a number of film ideas and projects in the past month and have been able to use this session to learn more about iMovie ‘09, which allows users to edit their own movies on a Mac. There is currently one Mac in the school and we are hoping that the skills learned today by some pupils can be passed on to other pupils to develop everyone’s media literacy skills.”

S3 student Bryce Lamont said: “The Field Trip was great fun and we spent the time creating our own short film.”

Field Trips to the Apple Store are open to primary and secondary students as well as Scout troops and home schooled students. Specialists are on hand to answer questions and give expert, on-the-spot advice. Every participating student also gets a free T-shirt.
