Glasgow Credit Union, the UK’s leading financial co-operative, celebrated reaching a landmark last month.

Curtis Walker, a 3D visualiser with CRGP architects was the company’s 25,000th member and was reportedly delighted with his ’25 Reasons to Love Your Credit Union’ hamper.

“I’m over the moon to have found such a great financial provider as Glasgow Credit Union and winning the hamper is the icing on the cake”, said Walker.

Having recently been denied credit by his bank, despite having a good credit and income, Curtis went online to research other options. The 25 year old, married father of one used his credit union loan to buy essential computer equipment to further his career and is typical of Glasgow Credit Union’s new wave of membership.

“We’re finding an increasing number of financially savvy customers looking for alternative means of finance, not because they have to, but because they have become disenchanted with the high street banks’ reluctance to lend and tired of the profit-driven hard sell”, said Glasgow Credit Union Marketing and Communications Executive, Hayley Street.

UK Credit Unions are regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Glasgow Credit Union offers financial services to everyone living or working in the G postcode area. For more information, visit
