Middlefield Residential School Eco Action Day
Middlefield Residential School held an Eco Action Day last month to remind staff and pupils the value of saving energy.
On Thursday, 10th June everyone in the school was involved, even lunch staff saved energy by preparing a cold lunch. Parents were invited to attend and send in suitable items to recycle. Older pupils handed unwanted clothes into local charity shops and primary pupils made eco badges.
However, the main focus of fun was the beasties. All the pupils were involved in creating a mini beast corner, in the hope of worms, spiders and insects setting up home.
Acting Headteacher Ann Houston said: “We work hard at saving energy all year by keeping to our Eco Code. We are a small school but we work hard to look after our environment. We recently won an Eco Schools Silver Award and are already planning for our 1st Green Flag.’
