After several years working as a head framer within a number of Scottish based picture framing companies Mat Thompson decided to fulfil his potential and start up his own framing company. Trading as Egg & Dart Bespoke Framing, Mat offers a comprehensive and unique service to anyone requiring quality framing solutions. Egg and Dart provide a personalised consultation service, advising customers on all their framing options and ideas.

Egg and Darts main clients are artists, auction houses, corporate businesses, hotels, bars and restaurants and of course, the individual. They provide a full mount and wrap service and also work closely with a printing company who are able to photograph, re-touch, colour match and print any artist’s work, which is then placed into mounts and wrapped using polypropylene bags ready for retail.

After deciding to start up his own company Mat approached Glasgow West Regeneration Agency (GWRA) for assistance in turning his idea into reality. Mat worked with business start-up advisor, Kenny Mills, on preparing a business plan and raising finance, in conjunction with some of GWRA’s partner agencies, and was able to make the transition into self employment effortlessly.

Egg and Dart have now moved into new premises in Govan and are continuing to go from strength to strength as their reputation for excellence begins to spread throughout Glasgow and further afield. A Class Act Hits the West End

In 2009, having worked for others as a hairdresser for 18 years, Drumchapel lady Sandra Lindsay decided to take the momentous step of going self employed with a bit of help from her business advisor at Glasgow West Regeneration Agency.
