Stark Theatre Beats The Credit Crunch

Glasgow performance group, Stark Theatre, hit on a winning formula to capitalise on a summer where money is proving even tighter than the weather.

Their combination of food, drink and comedy comes in the form of two plays at Beanscene in Woodlands Road repeating success of a Southside project. The project, entitled Duets, aims to challenge conventional views of relationships with both halves written by Peter Quilter. The Holiday is about a couple who go away to the sun to get divorced gently, while Secretarial Skills looks at a gay man’s ambivalent relationship with his faithful PA.

Stark Theatre, as its name suggests, uses minimal sets, lighting and props.

Duets will be performed at Beanscene, Woodlands Road on Saturday 14th August at 7pm. Tickets are available in advance from Beanscene on 0141 352 9800. Price £16.
